The last couple weeks have been one of the largest movements in our lifetimes and in history. There has been a sharp paradigm shift from the status quo of what we as a society will accept to what we as a society will rise up to do in order to change everything from laws to hearts.
The black boxes of #BlackoutTuesday on June 2, 2020, were all over social media to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, mute white privileged narratives and amplify melanated voices. Many people and businesses posted their support and allyship on social media however there is a call to accountability that this movement has created. It is not enough to post a black box or say your business cares about equity and justice, actions and plans are now required for statements to be taken seriously.
